Panda Bear, aka Animal Collective's Noah Lennox, will be playing the Bowery Ballroom in Manhattan on June the 18th, five days before his previously scheduled date at that venerable institution. The concert on the 23rd has been sold out since long before his album, Person Pitch, became probably the most universally loved record of the year to date. Tickets for the new/ first one went on sale an hour or two ago, and will likely not last long.Apologies for any confusion the headline and picture may have caused. Can pandas get rabies? I guess all animals can, huh? Anyhoo, I think Panda Bear's album vies with Low's new one as best of the year so far. Though he's one of those artists for who I have to detach his music from the persona he puts out. I've read some interviews with him where he comes off as a bit full of himself.
