After a year of hard times (drummer John Pike’s July drowning death), Syracuse’s Ra Ra Riot, those purveyors of stately indie pop, finally have some good news to spread (beyond that awesome Vampire Weekend/Riot collaboration, Discovery). The band has signed to Seattle’s Barsuk Records, and its debut album The Rhumb Line, hits stores on Aug. 19. However, no word on a tracklist yet. Here’s hoping “Dying is Fine,” the standout track from their self-titled EP, makes the cut.
