In an interview with Blackvoices.com, R. Kelly claimed that he is going to finish the album Michael Jackson was allegedly working on before his untimely death in June, saying that he and Jackson had talks shortly before his death about Kelly coming in to help finish the album alongside Jackson.
"I recorded five joints for Michael Jackson (in the past). And we had been talking on the phone about his new album, and I was going to finish what Michael was doing at the time. We're going to get it out though. Michael liked the way I would try to sing the songs just like him."
Overall, the idea of Kelly finishing a Jackson album is intriguing, because Kelly is the closest thing we have to Michael these days (a semi-reclusive R&B singer with taboo sexual quirks and an even weirder personality). But I have a feeling this has more to do with Kelly promoting his upcoming album than really wanting to finish Jackson's album. [Contact]
