In his lifelong quest to eroticize everything from bodily functions to storage space, R. Kelly has zeroed in on a new target: hair braiders. The first single from 12 Play: Fourth Quarter is titled “Hair Braider” and contains the refrain of "zig-zags/ straight backs/ doin' my hair braider."
Some might see this as just another attempt to objectify women, but Kelly obviously is trying to expand his boundless love into more acceptable areas, focusing his sometimes peculiar attentions on a skilled hair professional instead of … well, you know. To prove that he respects his braider for her craft, R. Kelly’s website is hosting a contest devoted to braiding skills.
12 Play: Fourth Quarter, which follows 1993’s Twelve Play, 2000’s TP-2.com, and 2005’s TP.3 Reloaded, will be released sometime this summer. No specific date has been named.
