Could it be that Prefix editor Brandon Wall was right when he remarked last year that the D’Angelo prostitution charge was, in a way, “fantastic marketing?” Maybe not. But as Wall mentioned, the singer’s manager made sure to plug his client’s in-the-works album. It’s true that we might be a year removed from that comment — during which the singer pleaded to a lesser charge. But it looks like D’Angelo just might be recording what would be the follow-up to 2000’s spectacular Voodoo. At least, that’s the impression we’re getting from the The Urban Daily. The site reported that he’s been in the studio recently with Questlove and Pino Palladino, who both appeared on Voodoo. Please let this be true.
