The news surrounding D'Angelo's Voodoo follow-up, tentatively called James River, continues to trickle out as a molasses-slow pace. As we reported this past April, the Roots' Questlove and bassist Pino Palladino were in the studio working with the soul-man on what will serve as his third album -- and first since 2000. And today, it was revealed by Q-Tip that he, too, has worked with D'Angelo on the new record. The Abstract took to his Twitter account to let us know the following:
Just finished with d'angelo. WOW!
Let me say... He is on his A game with the music! #dangelo
And @questlove did a joint with D'Angelo that is INSANE!
So what's the over/under on when we'll actually hear any of this? I'm guessing at least six months.
