Q-Tip's new album to drop early next year, label says

My man Q-Tip be all over the place these days. First there was the A Tribe Called Quest reunion/tribute at the VH1 Honors this week (about friggin time). And now he'll drop a new track, "Fever," on Jimmy Kimmel this Friday followed by opening the CMJ fest on October 16 at the Blender Theater at the Gramercy. But it gets better. According to the label, his solo album, "The Renaissance" will see an "early 2008" release and will feature both samples and a live band. If that's not enough, Tip does an instore at the NYC Apple SoHo store at 2 p.m. on October 18, where he'll perform and sign autographs to the first 50 heads. Can you think of a better reason to take a late lunch that day?
