Q-Tip and Nigel Godrich to work on album

Considering that Q-Tip hasn't commercially released an album since 1999's Amplified, there's a boatload of anticipation for this July's The Renaissance. However, it's the album that he wants to make next that really might turn some heads. Q-Tip says he's hooking up with Nigel Godrich, also known as the sixth member of Radiohead.

“He’s a big fan of rap,” Q-Tip told the Los Angeles Times. “It’ll be cool working with him. We’re going to make a film out of the project too.

“He’s just on some real hip-hop [stuff]. It’s gonna be a lot of sampling ... He’s really dope!”

Agreed, the guy behind every Radiohead album since OK Computer -- as well as albums from Pavement, Air and Beck -- is indeed dope. [Los Angeles Times via The Daily Swarm]

It's good to see a hip-hop artist want to link up with someone in rock outside of Chris Martin or the Linkin Park guys.
