Pussy Riot Seeks To Trademark Name

It's been a crazy week for Pussy Riot. The three members currently in custody will will serve two-year sentences for "hooliganism" after a ruling came down last Friday. Meanwhile, Russian police are looking for two more members of the punk group to apprehend.

Now comes news that the band is looking to trademark their name. Pussy Riot's lawyer, Mark Feigin, said the group wants to protect their name from being used for ‘‘all sorts of questionable events and projects." He still stresses that Pussy Riot wants their songs to be sung and disseminated "as long as the proceeds are used to fight the political system’s shortcomings." [Bloomberg]
