Puny Entertainment Readies Robbert Bobbert TV Show

Robert Schneider, the animated, gregarious front man of the Apples in Stereo, has an animated, gregarious alter ego: Robbert Bobbert. Schneider invented the kid-friendly character as a vehicle for his more child-oriented songs – “We R Superheroes” finds Bobbert inviting kids along on a urgent, presumably non-violent adventure. (Admittedly, not so different from something the Apples would sing about.)

And now Puny Entertainment, animators of the Nickelodeon series Yo Gabba Gabba!, have given Robbert Bobbert his own cartoon show. No info yet on Schneider’s involvement, but we can only assume he will have a part, and that the series will have a considerable musical component. Finally, they thought of something to fill the space left by the first batch of Nicktoons. [YANP]
