“Can this feeling travel across the Atlantic?” asks a message on the Pulp website today. The answer is: yes it can, as the Britpop legends have finally announced a tour on these shores for the first time since anyone can remember. The shows will tie in with the band’s appearances at Coachella in April.
Sadly, there are only two dates announced so far—one at Radio City Music Hall on April 11 and another at the Warfield in San Francisco on April 17. It’s not clear yet whether more dates will be added—if not, expect to see legions of fans traveling the country to catch one of these shows. The statement issued by the band in regard to the shows looks like this [via The Quietus]:
"The echo returns. Razzmatazz in the birthplace of Razzle-Dazzle. Pulp at Radio City Music Hall: has anything of this magnitude happened since Ziggy landed there in '73? 'Dunno mate - fantastic sight-lines though'. Golden Gate? Gotta be great. Murcia, have mercy on us. Enough already..... are you sure you're ready for this?"
