Pulp Reunite For Live Shows In 2011
The news that any self respecting Britpop obsessive has been waiting for has arrived: the members of Pulp have announced that they will be getting back together for a few shows in 2011, cutting short the hiatus that began at some point in 2002. The band will play the Wireless Festival in London and Spain’s Primavera Sound event next summer.
Pulp have issued a statement about the reunion, which reads as follows:
"Pulp have decided to get together and play some concerts next summer. The shows will involve all the original members of the band (Nick Banks, Jarvis Cocker, Candida Doyle, Steve MacKey, Russell Senior and Mark Webber) and they will play songs from all periods of their career. Yes, that means they'll be playing your favorites."
The most surprising part about this announcement is the return of Russell Senior, who quit the band at the height of their fame following the success of Different Class in 1995, saying it “wasn't creatively rewarding to be in Pulp anymore.” No ticket details on those reunion shows are available yet, but keep an eye on puplpeople for further information.

I'll pray hard to sweet baby Lord Jesus to help me get to that show. The last time I saw them together, I was still in my nappies. No wait, I never saw them together. The last time I checked their fansite was 10 years ago, all in its 1997 layout Geocities hosted glory. Oh wait, they now have a cool updated website.
Another bonus to the ladies, Steve Mackey is single again.
