Some days, the YouTube can be the worst. But then it redeems itself when things like this surface: Back in 1980, Public Image Ltd., John Lydon's post-Sex Pistols (and far superior) band, appeared on Dick Clark's American Bandstand, performing singles from their seminal second album, Metal Box, and mocking the contrivance of having to lipsync by inviting the entire crowd onstage to dance uncomfortably while Lydon prods them. There's some LOL moments when Clark tries to interview the band and says, "Wobble, nice to have you here" to Jah Wobble. Really entertaining stuff. {New Yorker via Daily Swarm]
This is so awesome my head almost exploded.
Public Image Limited = original, different, chaotic, fun & so much more, never boring on record or stage. John is the ultimate entertainer,he kows how to work the crowd. The music is inspirational & groundbreaking. They create NOT imitate. God! The UK music scene needs artists like these. we have become complacent with the X Factor generation = entertaing family TV but its hardly going to make a differnce 12 months down the line. PIL's work has been influencial to so many artists, it has a longevity and relevance that the Leona Lewis' of this world can only ever dream of. Long live Public Image Limited.
