Public Enemy are going the fan-funded route for their upcoming album, asking their fans to donate $250,000 in $25 increments for the band to finish the unstarted album. The legendary rap group just signed a deal with SellaBand, which will allow fans who donate to share in the profits of the album (if there are any) and to receive a numbered copy of the album once it's finished. Public Enemy are the biggest band to sign with SellaBand, which will give them exclusive rights to the masters of the album and alows them to decide how to reward fans for funding the album.
Unfortunately, the SellaBand deal doesn't allow fans to exert artistic suggestions, so expect Flava Flav to be involved, guys. Sorry. [NME]
