It looks as if Barack's nonpartisan White House Super Bowl bash has some competition for the place you should be bragging about being at this past Sunday. After a press conference promoting his new website, lotusflow3r.com, His Purple Majesty pieced together a house party of proportions only he is capable of last night - playing marathon sets until after 3 AM in front of about fifty people in his basement.
The night included covers from Sly Stone, Mary J. Blige, the Doobie Brothers, Rick James, and the Rolling Stones. The crowd was also treated to an impromptu keyboard sequencer solo, all played in a basement that held a glass encased Purple Rain motorcycle and Prince's own personalized pool table. When he wasn't shredding, the Artist entertained his guests in the kitchen, wearing "shoes that lighted up with red lights with each step."
So you'll know you've made it when you hold exclusive parties in your basement with your things encased in glass while wearing light up shoes in the kitchen just for the hell of it. What have you done with your life lately? [Prince Superbowl">LA Times]

If it were up to me, Prince would do the halftime show at the Super Bowl every year. His set 2 years ago was the most admirable insanity I've ever witnessed at such a large scale.
