A man's fascination with frilly shirts, eyeliner, and the color purple doesn't happen overnight, and Prince is no exception. It can also be assumed with a great amount of certainty that those interests might make the young Purple One something of a target for bullies. In a recent interview, Prince made a confession that has to be categorized as something less than surprising, saying that he initially turned to music when childhood tormentors made him feel isolated from his peers. Bullies often get a bad rap from put-upon artistic types, but we should all take a moment and thank them. Without their onslaught of name calling, wet willies, and swirlies, we could all be living in a world without the magnificence that is Purple Rain and Prince would probably be working at the local Wal-Mart, using the height advantage of his heels to expertly stock the highest shelves. Truly, they are the unsung heroes. [Bossip]
