Who chewed up and spit out the Coachella stage last night? Hint: He's closing in on fifty years old, stands five-foot-five in platform heels, and his name rhymes with "Vince."
In a show that started out hot and kept on upping the ante, like one of those "Now how much would you pay?" commercials, Prince's headlining set at Coachella last night kicked off with his Purpleness and band backing first the Time's Morris Day on "Jungle Love" and "The Bird," and then Sheila E. on "The Glamorous Life." After these prestigious party-starters, Prince started firing off hits like a trigger-happy marksman, delivering not only '80s gems like "Controversy," "1999," and "Let's Go Crazy," but also attention-getting covers of Radiohead's "Creep" (!) and the Beatles' "Come Together." Now how much would you pay?
