Prince Reportedly Looking for Political Gig With Obama Administration

It appears Obama's domestic policy (or dance moves?) has won over an unlikely supporter. According to Jet magazine, Prince has told the President's administration "I Would Work 4 U." "Van Jones, Obama’s special adviser for green jobs at the White House Council on Environmental Quality, told JET that celebrities including Russell Simmons and Prince have contacted him looking for ways to join Obama’s team," reads the article.

If true, this would be a dramatic change of heart for the Minneapolis musician, who previously stated that he didn't vote in the previous election "because I'm one of Jehovah's Witnesses and we've never voted." [TwentyFourBit]

The Watchtower organization can only "pull the wool" over the eyes of the Jehovah's Witnesses for so long. Many Witnesses are now leaving the org. because of the double standards that are so profoundly noticeable in their "spiritual paradise". The recent news concerning Michael Jackson is opening lots of eyes and getting the Witnesses to think. Michael Jackson disassociated himself back in the 1980s, but yet his mother and other Witnesses seemed to have no problem associating with him.

Rock star Prince, the Williams sisters and other famous people have no problem telling the public about their connections with the Jehovah's Witnesses. How can it be that the organization, known as "mother" treats all of her children differently. "Mother" has always encouraged her children not to participate in worldly pursuits, such as being a rock star or a professional athlete. Why the double standards?

There is no double standard. Some who profess to be Jehovah's Witnesses, simply are not. They can *say* they are all they want, but their actions belie their words and it is soon revealed as to whom they really follow.

People who *know* Jehovah's Witnesses know which ones are really adhering to Bible standards and which ones are not. Simple as that.

Um...Do you have some proof (citations) to back up your vague assertion below?

And why have you placed yourself in a position of judging others? That's a pretty dangerous place to be. God says he will judge us by our own standards. Something to think about.

And I very much enjoy my "spiritual paradise" because I associate with real witnesses of Jehovah. What a beautiful thing it is to be surrounded by ones who show so much love and joy in serving the one true God, Jehovah,

Why be so Parochial. If a wants to do a show & be JW let him. Lets be more flexible. Why does religion have to be so rigid and unreasonable at times? We all are diverse beings in the Universe. Why not just allow us to be ourselves while mingling with others. I do not see a problem with everyone just chilling and making good music & celebrating life! Whats wrong with that?!

That's just it. Jehovah's Witnesses hold all types of jobs, including sports and music. There is nothing wrong with this. Most people with "very public" occupations place the doing of God's will first in their lives, and consider all other things as being secondary, including their occupation.

However it can become quite easy to get distracted and find yourself pushing God away and making your occupation the main focus. That's what a Christian must be careful not to do.

Prince promoting Jehovah's Witnesses is the same as Tom Cruise & Scientology.
I like Prince music and I like Tom Cruise movies.

Prince converts to the Jehovah's Witnesses not good for him or for the fans.
Look,it gets to the point where you cannot protect every "belief system" the Jehovah's Witnesses are run by the Watchtower society which is a cruel oppressive cult in every way.

They WILL burn out Prince just like MJ.

Jehovah's Witnesses are schooled in 'finding common ground',if you like pink elephants they will become experts on pink elephants.

That's the beauty of religion and superstition, it has no limits.Religion is the most profitable legal business because religions can misquote, misrepresent, and use unethical practices without fear of punishment. It's the absolute best way to scam people I have yet seen
