The Purple One must have been in a fabulous mood to have put on the show he did for his Toronto fans at the Air Canada Centre the other night. Prince not only played the songs you’d expect him to–“Raspberry Beret,” “Little Red Corvette” et al–he also played a solid number of covers as well. Although no video of the covers has surfaced just yet, it’s been reported that the singer and musician did renditions of Wild Cherry’s “Play That Funky Music White Boy,” The Car’s “Let’s Go,” and a short take on Michael Jackson’s “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough.” I can only imagine the Jackson cover was incredible. In the meantime, below you can watch a piece of Prince’s Toronto performance–a 9 minute stretch of “Purple Rain.” Dude can shred! As a bonus, check out some of his dance moves at the Nov. 25 gig. Still got the funk at 53. [TDS]
