It’s tribute band week on Letterman, and last night he had Purple Reign, the world’s number one Prince tribute band, play “Let’s Go Crazy” on his show. I really wanted to hate this, but it was pretty entertaining—these guys have all of the dancing and mannerisms down, and the singer’s voice is a near-perfect facsimile to the Purple One’s. Letterman seems to really dig the performance, and he even tosses it to Paul for a quick opinion. Tonight a Johnny Cash tribute band plays, but I can’t imagine that they’ll be doing splits like Purple Reign. [Idolator]
