It may be hard for some of us to accept, but the Twilight film series finally comes to an close on Nov. 16 after four beautiful years. Today, iTunes released track previews for the final installment of the series Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2.
One of the most interesting and bizarre components of the series is the evolving nature of each films’ respective soundtrack. From the original Twilights‘s Paramore-indebted teen mall rock compilation, to New Moon’s surprisingly eclectic indie rock mix, each film has a unique sound seemingly in line with popular trends in music during that particular year.
True to form, the Breaking Dawn Part 2 installment features a mix of sweeping piano-driven ballads from artists such as Green Day and Feist, and ‘80s-influenced electronic pop from Passion Pit, St. Vincent and a Skrillex-produced Ellie Goulding track.
The soundtrack is out Nov. 13 on Atlantic Records. Preview it here.
