Funnyman John C. Reilly will be the next artist to release music through Third Man Records' ongoing Blue Series--apparently within the month, too. He'll drop two singles, one with Becky Stark of Lavender Diamond, and one with Tom Brosseau. The former will see Reilly and Stark cover "I'll Be There If You Ever Want" by Ray Price and "I'm Making Plans" by Dolly Parton and Porter Wagoner; Reilly's collaboration with Brosseau with feature two Delmore Brothers cuts, "Gonna Lay Down My Old Guitar" and "Lonesome Yodel Blues #2." Third Man founder Jack White will play on both singles, which will also feature Olivia Jean and Fats Kaplin of The Black Belles, a female quartet signed to White's label.
Two samples of Reilly's music can be streamed below, and as Stereogum pointed out, you'll be hard pressed to miss the voice of the Walk Hard star. [SG]
