Stereogum is reporting that Kanye West flew Bon Iver frontman Justin Vernon to his recording studio in Hawaii, possibly for a track on West's forthcoming album due out in November. So far, this album sounds like it could possibly reach "hella-crunk" status.
This wouldn't be the first time Justin Vernon ventured into the hip-hop scene. His new supergroup, Gayngs, features P.O.S. and Dessa of Minneapolis rap group Doomtree. This also wouldn't be the first time West invited pop vocalists to collaborate with him. His album Late Registration featured Maroon 5's Adam Levine, while he recruited Chris Martin to do vocals on his Chicago anthem "Homecoming" off of Graduation.
So far, this is only a rumor, so stop spazzing out. But, wow, it would be awesome, wouldn't it? [NME]
