Pop Candy's 25 greatest high school albums

She gave us 25 great high school books -- including comics -- and the essential high school movies. (There's no way Breakfast Club isn't the all-time number one in this category, but at least it lost out to real teenagers.) She also listed the 25 top teen TV shows. And now, in the final installment of her "High School Survival Kit," Pop Candy's Whitney Matheson lists the best high school albums. Her list kind of reads as a record collection starter kit, though, everything from OK Computer and the White Album to Bob Marley's Legend. But it'll bring back memories of buying bad grass in basements to the roar of Black Sabbath, and that's always a great way to start a weekend. [Pop Candy]

Yeah, that's weird. I'd say I got into almost all of those bands at some point during high school or junior high. There seem to be a lot of consensus records that work as great starting points/gateway drugs for young music geeks.

Isn't this just a reshuffled selection of albums from most "Greatest Albums of All Time" lists?
