Poll shows Oasis have 'iconic appeal'

The U.K. fans have spoken: Oasis apparently is still the greatest band in the world. Q and HMV recently took a poll of the 50 Best Ever British Albums, and Definitely Maybe and (What's The Story) Morning Glory? took the top two spots respectively, besting everything from Radiohead's OK Computer to The Clash's London Calling. Oh, also everything The Beatles ever did. 

 

Oasis also took the number fourteen and number twenty-two slots. Rudy Osorio, of HMV, said, "Most album polls of recent years have tended to see the likes of The Beatles, Radiohead and Stone Roses vie for the top five spots. However, as our perspective changes, it looks like many more of us are starting to recognize the iconic appeal of Oasis and the brilliance of Definitely Maybe as an era defining album."
