With the 20th anniversary of Kurt Cobain's Suicide just a few weeks away, today police investigators took a look at previously undeveloped film taken at the crime scene. The images, which are apparently clearer than previous Polaroids taken by investigators, are said to show Cobain's body but will not be disclosed to the public. While initially it seemed that the Police were planning to officially reopen the case, police spokeswoman Renee Witt curbed the buzz, announcing that the detective "dug up the files and had another look, and there was nothing new."
Even so, this new development is sure to reinvigorate the many conspiracy theorists who question whether the death was, in fact, a suicide. For more on the story, tune into KIRO tonight at 11pm PST for an interview with the detective who re-investigated the death.
UPDATE: Police have debunked reports of the case being reopened, tweeting, "Despite an erroneous news report, we have not "reopened" the investigation into the Suicide of Kurt Cobain."
