We're always happy to hear new music from those crazy American Idol winners, given the show's ability to zero in on exactly what the music loving public wants to hear. That, of course, is textbook verbal irony, proven by the fact that more Idol winners have bypassed fame for Broadway touring companies or making Ford commercials. Despite these hit-or-miss results, at least one Idol alum has actually figured what people want to hear: Arcade Fire's "Rebellion (Lies)." Kelly Clarkson's new single "Naked Eye" apparently borrows liberally from the song, to the point that the blogosphere is threatening to blow a tizzy bomb about it. If you want to check out "Naked Eye" for yourself and make a judgment, have fun trying to find it. Clarkson's label has scrubbed the song from the existence quicker than you can say "copyright infringement." Judgmental types, however, can close their eyes and play the Arcade Fire track, pretend it's Clarkson. and then work up some righteous anger. [The Daily Swarm]
