Here's an awards ceremony unlikely to be effected by the ongoing writers strike: the 2008 PLUG Independent Music Awards is slated to go down March 6 at Terminal 5 in New York City. Hosting the night's festivities will be none other than comedic mastermind Patton Oswalt, whose busy 2007 included releasing his first comedy album for Sub Pop, Werewolves and Lollipops, and voicing the star rat in the animated hit film Rataouille. The first two musical performers to be confirmed to play the show are multiple nominees Jose Gonzalez and St. Vincent. More acts should be announced as the show gets closer. And remember, through February 8 you can continue to vote for the PLUG Awards, in which this little website you're currently visiting is up for Music Website of the Year.
