PJ Harvey Composes Music For ‘Hamlet’

Polly Jean Harvey made it known through Facebook that she has composed music for a production of Shakespeare’s Hamlet that debuted Oct. 28 at London’s Young Vic Theatre. The troubled character Ophelia, played by Vinette Robinson, performs Harvey‘s music. The play is directed by Ian Rickson and stars Michael Sheen (Frost/Nixon) as Hamlet, who is Ophelia’s former lover.

The production will run until Jan. 21, 2012, and marks new territory for Harvey after 2011’s Let England Shake. [P4K]
