Pixies Launch First Official Website, Unveil September Tour

In a double-whammy from one of the greatest bands of our generation, the members of The Pixies have both launched their own website and, through said website, unveiled a string of tour dates that will -- drumroll please -- bring the Doolittle tour back to the U.S. After nearly 40 sold-out shows throughout the U.S., Europe and Australia in 2009 to mark the 20th anniversary of the acclaimed album, the revived tour will take place Sept. 7-26 (specifics below). In addition to playing Doolittle classics like “Debaser,” “Monkey Gone To Heaven,” “Here Comes Your Man,” and “La La Love You,” the band will also incorporate B-sides such as “Weird At My School” and “Dancing The Manta Ray” into the mix. Twelve of the 21 tracks will have their own visual accompaniment created by such diverse filmmakers as Judy Jacobs, Melinda Tupling, Tom Winkler, and Brent Felix. British electronic duo Fuckbuttons will open, and audio recordings of each show will be available to purchase here. A special presale begins on Monday, June 7, at 9 a.m.; click here.
