Pink Eyes Becomes Regular Fox News Commentator

Fox’s Red Eye show has become an unlikely outlet for various indie rock stars. Stephen Malkmus and Buzz Osborne of the Melvins have both appeared on the show, which is aired on the ultra conservative network at 3am on weekdays. In an incredible turn of events, Fucked Up singer Pink Eyes had landed a permanent gig as a commentator on Red Eye, and will join the Fox payroll alongside Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity.

Pink Eyes--real name Damian Abraham--will be keeping a “fair and balanced” perspective on the show after Red Eye host Greg Gutfield declared Fucked Up’s The Chemistry of Common Life as his favorite album of last year. "I think this probably seems weirder to me being in this situation than for people outside looking in," said Abraham.

Abraham was a women’s studies major in college, and claims that the producers of Red Eye want him to be their expert on gender issues. "I pointed out that there'd probably be something problematic in having a white male be an expert on gender issues," he said. The singer admits that he is struggling to deal with the idea that he will appear on a network that he is "definitely not a fan of, in any capacity really.”

“It's one of those things where do you take this ridiculous opportunity as it's presented to you, or do you avoid it and just continue on with your life?" Abraham said. "That's sort of the internal struggle I'm dealing with. Here I am as an invited guest sitting down at Fox News. It's just so bizarre."
