Three years can be a long time in the life of a musician. Especially if you're Phoenix frontman Thomas Mars. You can get all caught up basking in the success of your breakthrough album, dating and having a baby with a world-famous movie director, having a couple of your songs included in said world-famous director's movies, hanging out with movie stars at red carpets events and, well, kind of forgetting to make any new music.
But Phoenix are apparently rising from their ashes (sorry, it had to be done.) The French group have announced that they will be releasing the follow-up to 2006's It's Never Been Like That this spring. They've also posted a teaser of one of the tracks, "Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix," on their website. The verdict? Sounds like perfect soundtrack music.
