Philip Seymour Hoffman Talks About Love In The Master Trailer (Video)

Another trailer for Paul Thomas Anderson’s The Master has been released online. Several other trailers have been released in the same fashion over the past couple months. This latest trailer was released on YouTube to promote a special 70mm screening at Chicago’s Music Box Theater on Aug 16. The screening was held as a benefit for The Film Foundation, Martin Scorcese’s film preservation nonprofit.

The Master is inspired by Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard and will be released in limited theaters on Sept. 14 by The Weinstein Company. In the trailer, we see Philip Seymour Hoffman’s Hubbard-inspired character, Lancaster Dobbs, speaking about love, intercut with Amy Adams’s discussing “time holes” with Joaquin Phoenix.

A secret screening for The Master was held earlier this month at the American Cinematheque and crowd reaction was very positive, with many claims of a possible Oscar nomination for Anderson and the cast. Check out the trailer below to see why everyone has been raving about this film.
