Phil Spector's Wife Just Now Finding Out Prison Isn't a Fun Place, Says Phil is "Treated Worse than an Animal"

Phil Spector's wife, Rachelle Spector, has come out against the California penal system to the L.A. Times to talk about how "bad" prison is for her husband, who was sentenced to life for the 2003 murder of Lana Clarkson.

"He's locked in a five-by-nine [foot] cell, 23 and a half hours a day," she said. "They treat people worse than animals."

Rachelle, who is 28, apparently has never seen Scared Straight or heard anything at all about prison, and assumed that when you murder someone, you get to play mini golf, eat steaks, watch movies, spend 24 hours outside of the prison doing errands and basically have the time of your life.

Not to mention that there are people who didn't kill anyone (say drug dealers or armed robbers) who have the same conditions as Phil, and they don't have a woman crying that they're treated like animals because she wants to get publicity for herself. Sure, 23 and a half hours is rough, but it's prison.  [NME]

Prison is not a playground and she probably should try to get along with the guards who look after her husband since she'll be visiting him for an extended period.
