Phil Spector Requests Appeal From U.S. Supreme Court

Legendary music producer Phil Spector, who was convicted of the 2003 murder of actress Lana Clarkson, has requested an appeal from the U.S. Supreme Court. Dennis Riordan, Spector’s attoryney, argues that his client’s constitutional rights were violated by Superior Court Judge Larry Paul Fidler in the original trial. The California Supreme Court has previously denied Spector’s first and second appeals, and this marks his third attempt at overturning Fidler’s decision since 2007. The former record producer is now serving 19 years to life in California state prison. [RS]
