Recording legend Phil Spector was found guilty of second-degree murder today, for the 2003 shooting death of actress Lana Clarkson. The verdict came from a Los Angeles Superior Court Jury after an estimated 29 to 30 hours of deliberations.
Clarkson was an actress whose most notable role was in 1985 B movie Barbarian Queen. 40-year-old Clarkson was at her job as a hostess at the West Hollywood House of Blues when she met Spector. She accompanied Spector home after her shift, and several hours later, was found dead of a gunshot wound to the mouth.
While Spector's defense claimed she killed herself, the prosecution argued that Spector had a history of threatening women with guns.
This was Spector's retrial. The first trial in 2007 failed to reach a unanimous verdict with the jury deadlocked 10-2.
