Phil Spector has only been incarcerated for a couple of months, but his activities behind bars have continued to hit the headlines. First, he made some wild demands, then there were rumors that fellow inmate Charles Manson was trying to contact Spector. Now, the legendary producer has written about his life behind bars.
Spector wrote to his friend and fellow musician Steve Escobar, saying he was hoping “to get a better prison with people more like myself in it during the appeal process instead of all these lowlife scumbags, gangsters and Manson types....They’d kill you here for a 39-cent bag of soup!”
The one shaft of light in Spector’s current malaise is the regular visits from his 29 year-old wife, Rachelle, who is 50 years younger than her husband. “All in all, it's like a dream come true having her by my side again,” he said. Spector’s sentence condemned him to 19 years in jail for the murder of actress Lana Clarkson.

Getting killed over a bag of soup actually makes more sense than getting shot in the mouth by a psychotic ex-record producer for some twisted ego-maniacal reason. Besides, nothing's happened yet. Maybe Phil needs to be worked up to his death incrementally. Perhaps some of the boys could sodomize him just like he tried with some of the women he terrorized over the years. Hey, Phil, grab yer ankles and close yer eyes, this won't hurt TOO much.
Sounds like justice to me, that is if he really does have a bag of 39 cent soup someone else wants.
