Jay told us at the close of last year that we could expect to see two projects from him in 2012 as well as another album from "The Throne" (still nominated as one of the lamest names in hip-hop), and while it's right to remain dubious given the fact that Watch the Throne was delayed, oh, something like 8 months, and we haven't seen anything since Blueprint 3, Pharrell is promising that a collab project between the two is in the works.
Here's what Pharrell told MTV in a recent interview:
"We're working on something, it's crazy. Well, you know, he's very discreet about details and stuff. I'm just a filmmaker, musically. I let everybody else play the roles."
Plenty of solid details in there. No vagaries at all. We know the pair are tight considering Hov let Pharrell work the instrumentals for "Glory," so we'll see if something larger begins to come to fruition.
Personally, if I was Jay-Z, I'd brush it all off and focus on getting Jay Electronica to drop Act II this year, but that's just my own pipe dream.
