Pete Yorn and Scarlett Johansson Announce Break Up

Scarlett Johansson's last album (last year's Anywhere I Lay My Head) was a collaborative effort with TV on the Radio's Dave Sitek and Yeah Yeah Yeahs Nick Zinner, and apparently her second album will be more of the same. Except instead of hooking up with NY's indie rock vanguard, she's releasing a full-length duet album with Pete Yorn, Break Up, which is due out on September 8.

 

Yorn says the idea to work with Johansson came to him in a dream, and she was intrigued by the idea, so she joined up with him on the album, which is inspired by Serge Gainsbourg's albums with Brigitte Bardot. Apparently Yorn exclusively has dreams about She & Him, another duet project helmed by a roots rock balladeer (M. Ward) with an actress as his female foil (that would be Zooey Deschanel).
