Via: NMEIt seems Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz is in desperate need of some perspective. As you may or may not know (or care) the band's upcoming album Infinity on High was leaked onto the net a few weeks back, long before its February 6 release date. Wentz and his bandmates are somewhat upset over these developments, and they have every right to be, but check out Wentz's bloated sense of cultural importance:
"This could be the worst leak in the history in music. This could potentially be one of the biggest leaks there is. If you think that every year computers, iPod, internet music grows exponentially and we're probably one of the biggest bands in rock music on the internet."
Wait, what? Did I miss something here? Last I checked, Fall Out Boy (while admittedly pretty popular) had yet to score a #1 single, and arguably owed most of its popularity to Wentz whipping his dick out for picture time. Not exactly "biggest bands in rock music on the internet" (whatever that means) type stuff.
Stay tuned for Brandon Flowers' inevitable catty response that, infact, The Killers are the biggest band in rock music on the internet.

I agree that he is out of control saying that this is "the worst leak in history" or whatever (I actually would pick the unmastered hail to the thief is we're counting). But there is a pretty good argument for fall out boy being the biggest band in rock. Counting singles isn't fair, since rock doesn't chart that way any more, and the new record will certainly be at the top of the charts when it is released. The Killers have a pretty good claim to it as well, but then again, so do nickelback.
