Pete Seeger joins Bruce Sringsteen at Obama inaugural celebration

U2 may have gotten to close Barack Obama's inaugural concert, but the undisputed highlight was Pete Seeger taking the stage with his grandson and Bruce Springsteen to deliver a rousing rendition of Woody Guthrie's "This Land is Your Land." The eighty-nine year old Seeger has maintained his stage presence, and the slouchiness of his beanie indicates he may even be aware of grunge music. Other performers at the frigid affair included Sheryl Crow, Stevie Wonder, Mary J. Blige, James Taylor, Herbie Hancock, and John Legend. [NME

Hard to imagine where our music would be without the likes of Pete Seeger or Alan Lomax.

Obama will save this country. His message of hope and change is inspiring and his devotion to service is positive. Obama should be allowed to be our leader for more than eight years. His foreign policy is diametrically opposed to the NeoCons and the Bush regime. Obama's promise of an escalation in the war in Afghanistan and saber rattling Pakistan gives me hope to be free of terror.
