Babyshambles frontman and professional car wreck Pete Doherty appeared in court today for a customary review of his drug treatment order. While this is a pretty ho-hum Doherty story on it's own, what makes it interesting was that District Judge Jane McIvor was actually pleased with Doherty's "progress." According to McIvor, Doherty has made a "great effort" to kick his habits, and added "it's a long progress and there is another nine months to go. This is more optimistic but we cannot take the pressure off. It takes day-to-day effort."
I have to question at this point whether or not Judge McIvor is batshit crazy. After all, this is the same judge that fined Doherty barely over a month ago for five, count 'em five, counts of drug possession. Anyone who can possibly explain this bizarre scenario is invited to leave some comments below.
