In news that shouldn’t surprise anyone that’s followed his career, former Libertines and Babyshambles singer Pete Doherty has cancelled his summer festivals gigs and is off to rehab yet again.
According to the Guardian, Pete’s been indulging in a bit of heroine and crack cocaine for a while and is heading off the Thailand for treatment.
“Doherty flew to the Cabin, in Chiang Mai, Thailand [on Tuesday] escorted by his manager Andy Boyd,” reads on message on the former Libertines singer’s website. “Doherty’s stay at the Cabin will see him undergo a rigorous treatment program designed to lead to recovery once and for all.”
Fans who planning to see him perform at T in the Park in Glasgow, Super Bock Super Rock festival in Portugal and Rock for People in the Czech Republic will undoubtedly be disappointed.
