It’s been a busy week for former Libertines frontman Pete Doherty. Police detained him after he was allegedly caught taking drugs on a flight from Switzerland to London at the weekend. Now, Doherty has been arrested again, this time for driving erratically in the small city of Gloucester in the south west of England.

His car was pulled over by police approximately 30 minutes after he appeared at the Guildhall venue in the city. Gloucester police have confirmed that drugs were found in Doherty’s possession, although they neglected to say which ones. It now seems clear that his battle with narcotics is far from over.

A spokesperson for the Gloucester police issued the following statement: “At approximately 12.30am officers on patrol in Eastgate Street saw a car being driven erratically, it continued down Barton Street and was stopped in Derby Road. A 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving, possession of drugs and failure to stop for police. He remains in custody at this time."
