Pete Doherty Arrested For Allegedly Taking Drugs on Flight to London

A Libertines reunion edged closer to reality in May, with three-quarters of the original lineup uniting for a brief set in London. Sadly, tabloid magnet Pete Doherty still appears to be battling his drug addictions, which have blighted his career and led to a month-long stint behind bars in April 2008.

Doherty was arrested at a Swiss airport this weekend, where he is alleged to have taken drugs on a British Airways flight. The singer was due to fly from London to Geneva on Friday (June 5) but was reportedly found slumped in a bathroom in mid flight. A hypodermic needle was allegedly found in the bathroom after Doherty was arrested on arrival in London.

Incredibly, Doherty still managed to perform at the Neuchatel Open Air Festival on Saturday after being charged, fined and released on Saturday. This arrest is another sorry addition to the litany of drug offenses Doherty has been arrested for—according to Wikipedia, he has pleased guilty to possession of crack cocaine, heroin, cannabis and ketamine at various stages of his career.
