From "Martha My Dear" to Ram and his vegetarian lifestyle, Paul McCartney has always loved his animals, and it hasn't gone unnoticed. In honor of his 70th birthday today, the UK branch of PETA sent greetings to Sir Paul. NME reports that the greeting came in the form of a card featuring a photo of a fish, a pig, a chicken, and a cow reenacting the infamous Abbey Road cover shot. The animals hold up signs that read "Happy Birthday Paul," "Thank You," "For Loving Us," "Not Eating Us." In addition, Paul Weller (the Jam) is releasing a cover of the Beatles' "Birthday" today as a "tribute to the man who, along with the rest of the Beatles, got [him] into music in the first place."
