People Magazine Claims DJ AM Overdosed on OxyContin

The results of the toxicology tests performed on DJ AM following his sudden death on Friday (Aug. 28) have not yet been made available. But People magazine claims to have some insider information on the cause of his demise, saying that he had eight OxyContin pills in his stomach and a ninth in his mouth.

How did People get this information? They’re not saying, but are going down the usual route of using an 'unnamed source' to feed them these details. The source claims DJ AM “wanted to die. He was going unconscious when he took the last one. He didn't even swallow it."

People is also reporting that a crack pipe was found next to his body, and their source says he "smoked a lot of crack, barricaded the doors and killed himself." The magazine also speculates that DJ AM had not reacted well to his split from girlfriend Haley Wood, and was still recovering from that infamous near-fatal plane crash in September 2008.
