For his self-titled full-length debut, Chris Glover, aka Penguin Prison, set out to create "a pop album where every song was good and catchy and people could dance to it." This announcement isn't terribly surprising considering dude's track record of crafting upbeat, dance floor-ready jams full of tight production and songwriting.
And it appears that his reputation has grown beyond being a staple of the New York City dance/disco scene. He recently signed with Downtown Records, who will release Penguin Prison this fall. Glover said in a release that his goal to make an undeniable pop record was "hard work," though he "tried to have fun" in doing so. And in his words, "If I didn’t jump around the room while I was recording a song, it didn’t make the cut."
Penguin Prison is due out in the fall on Downtown Records. You can stream a clip of his new track, "Fair Single," and his June DJ mix below. Head to his website for tour dates and head to RCRD LBL for a Shook remix of "Multi-Millionaire."
