Pavement's Reunion Tour Starts In New Zealand (Video)

Pavement's long-awaited reunion tour kicked off yesterday in Auckland, New Zealand, and it was reported as awesome. Which seems about right. The set list has been debated amongst fans, but below I've included it for your dissection. It looks a lot like the track list to their greatest hits comp, which also seems about right. As you can tell above, there is video of the excellent "Range Life" (from Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain) embedded. There are some other videos floating around, as well. Hit YouTube if you're interested (I'm betting you already did if you are). The band also recently announced a handful of additional U.S. dates for the tour, and those are right here.

Any bets on if the set list will change, or do you think it'll be the same throughout the tour? [Stereogum]

Awesome. I bet it stays relatively the same, with some zingers thrown in from time to time.

Damn, I have the feeling that the crowd is gonna sing along too much. Not awesome.

It is awesome they opened with "In a Mouth a Desert."

Singing along and clapping with the beat: worst things to happen to live music. Unless there's no PA and you're watching Minor Threat.

Very solid setlist. Hopefully some surprises when they reach Australia ("I Love Perth," anyone?)
