Pavement to Headline Sasquatch! Festival

Well, blot out your May 29 weekend. As things stand currently, next year's Sasquatch! Festival will play home to the very first U.S. show of the Pavement reunion. Right now they're the only band confirmed to be playing at the Quincy, Wash., festival; the full lineup hits on Feb. 16.

 

A lot has happened since the indie-rock juggernauts announced their first reunion show, a single date in Central Park that has since grown to four. They've been announced as headliners for Primavera Sound Festival and ATP (which they're also curating), been rumored to be headlining Coachella, decided to do a handful of overseas tour dates, and talked about a compilation that might be seeing release next year. They'll be busy.

 

About the only bad news about this is how effortlessly the band shot down any hopes of new Pavement material. C'mon, guys, don't kill the dream. [Stereogum]
